those men who had brought out the bad report about the land--were struck down by a plague before the LORD.

1 Corinthians 10:5
Nevertheless, God was not pleased with most of them, for they were struck down in the wilderness.

Numbers 13:32
So they gave the Israelites a bad report about the land that they had spied out: "The land we explored devours its inhabitants, and all the people we saw there are great in stature.

Even those men that did bring up the evil report on the land, died by the plague before the LORD.
