Job Says His Friends Proverbs Are Ashes 1Behold, my eye has seen all this, My ear has heard and understood it.
What you know I also know;
But I would speak to the Almighty,
But you smear with lies;
O that you would be completely silent,
Please hear my argument
Will you speak what is unjust for God,
Will you show partiality for Him?
Will it be well when He examines you?
He will surely reprove you
Will not His majesty terrify you,
Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ashes,
Why should I take my flesh in my teeth
Though He slay me,
This also will be my salvation,
Listen carefully to my speech,
Behold now, I have prepared my case;
Who will contend with me?
Only two things do not do to me,
Remove Your hand from me,
Then call, and I will answer;
How many are my iniquities and sins?
Why do You hide Your face
Will You cause a driven leaf to tremble?
For You write bitter things against me
You put my feet in the stocks
