Elihu Speaks of Gods Dealings with Men 1Then Elihu continued and said,
Wait for me a little, and I will show you
I will fetch my knowledge from afar,
For truly my words are not false;
Behold, God is mighty but does not despise any;
He does not keep the wicked alive,
He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous;
And if they are bound in fetters,
Then He declares to them their work
He opens their ear to instruction,
If they hear and serve Him,
But if they do not hear, they shall perish by the sword
But the godless in heart lay up anger;
They die in youth,
He delivers the afflicted in their affliction,
Then indeed, He enticed you from the mouth of distress,
But you were full of judgment on the wicked;
Beware that wrath does not entice you to scoffing;
Will your riches keep you from distress,
Do not long for the night,
Be careful, do not turn to evil,
Behold, God is exalted in His power;
Who has appointed Him His way,
Remember that you should exalt His work,
All men have seen it;
Behold, God is exalted, and we do not know Him;
For He draws up the drops of water,
Which the clouds pour down,
Can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds,
Behold, He spreads His lightning about Him,
For by these He judges peoples;
He covers His hands with the lightning,
Its noise declares His presence; New American Standard Bible Copyright © 1960, 1962, 1963, 1968, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977, 1995 by The Lockman Foundation, La Habra, Calif. All rights reserved. For Permission to Quote Information visit http://www.lockman.org Bible Apps |
