God the Judge of the Righteous and the Wicked. A Psalm of Asaph. 1The Mighty One, God, the LORD, has spoken, And summoned the earth from the rising of the sun to its setting.
Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty,
May our God come and not keep silence;
He summons the heavens above,
Gather My godly ones to Me,
And the heavens declare His righteousness, Selah.
Hear, O My people, and I will speak;
I do not reprove you for your sacrifices,
I shall take no young bull out of your house
For every beast of the forest is Mine,
I know every bird of the mountains,
If I were hungry I would not tell you,
Shall I eat the flesh of bulls
Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving
Call upon Me in the day of trouble;
But to the wicked God says,
For you hate discipline,
When you see a thief, you are pleased with him,
You let your mouth loose in evil
You sit and speak against your brother;
These things you have done and I kept silence;
Now consider this, you who forget God,
He who offers a sacrifice of thanksgiving honors Me; New American Standard Bible Copyright © 1960, 1962, 1963, 1968, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1975, 1977, 1995 by The Lockman Foundation, La Habra, Calif. All rights reserved. For Permission to Quote Information visit http://www.lockman.org Bible Apps |
