Treasury of Scripture
And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
Matthew 20:29 And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.
Luke 18:35 And it came to pass, that as he was come near to Jericho, a certain blind man sat by the way side begging:
as he went. Luke says that this took place 'as he was come nigh unto Jericho,' and afterwards records an event which took place in that city. But the words [en to engizo autou eis lericho,] may be rendered, 'When he was nigh Jericho,' which is equally true of him who is gone a little way from it, as of him who is come near it; and as it is probable that Jesus stayed some days in the neighbourhood, this might occur as he went out of the city during that time, and he might afterwards re-enter it.
Luke 16:20,22 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores...
John 9:8 The neighbors therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
Acts 3:2,3 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful...
