וַיִּשְׁלַ֞ח יְהֹואָ֣שׁ מֶֽלֶךְ־יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל אֶל־אֲמַצְיָ֣הוּ מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָה֮ לֵאמֹר֒ הַחֹ֜וחַ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּלְּבָנֹ֗ון לַח אֶל־הָאֶ֜רֶז אֲשֶׁ֤ר בַּלְּבָנֹון֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר תְּנָֽה־אֶת־בִּתְּךָ֥ לִבְנִ֖י לְאִשָּׁ֑ה וַֽתַּעֲבֹ֞ר חַיַּ֤ת הַשָּׂדֶה֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּלְּבָנֹ֔ון וַתִּרְמֹ֖ס אֶת־הַחֹֽוחַ׃

King Jehoash of Israel sent word to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, “ The thistle that was in Lebanon once sent a message to the cedar that was in Lebanon, saying, ‘ Give your daughter to my son as a wife .’ Then a wild animal that was in Lebanon passed by and trampled the thistle.
New American Standard Bible
Jehoash king of Israel sent to Amaziah king of Judah, saying, "The thorn bush which was in Lebanon sent to the cedar which was in Lebanon, saying, Give your daughter to my son in marriage. But there passed by a wild beast that was in Lebanon, and trampled the thorn bush.
