יָאִ֣יר בֶּן־מְנַשֶּׁ֗ה לָקַח֙ אֶת־כָּל־חֶ֣בֶל אַרְגֹּ֔ב עַד־גְּב֥וּל הַגְּשׁוּרִ֖י וְהַמַּֽעֲכָתִ֑י וַיִּקְרָא֩ אֹתָ֨ם עַל־שְׁמֹ֤ו אֶת־הַבָּשָׁן֙ חַוֹּ֣ת יָאִ֔יר עַ֖ד הַיֹּ֥ום הַזֶּֽה׃

יאיר בן־מנשה לקח את־כל־חבל ארגב עד־גבול הגשורי והמעכתי ויקרא אתם על־שמו את־הבשן חות יאיר עד היום הזה׃ Strong's Concordance Holman Christian Standard Bible Jair, a descendant of Manasseh, took over the entire region of Argob as far as the border of the Geshurites and Maacathites. He called Bashan by his own name, Jair’s Villages, as it is today .
