וַיַּעֲמֹ֨ד הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ עַל־עָמְדֹ֗ו וַיִּכְרֹ֣ת אֶֽת־הַבְּרִית֮ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָה֒ לָלֶ֜כֶת אַחֲרֵ֣י יְהוָ֗ה וְלִשְׁמֹ֤ור אֶת־מִצְוֹתָיו֙ וְעֵֽדְוֹתָ֣יו וְחֻקָּ֔יו בְּכָל־לְבָבֹ֖ו וּבְכָל־נַפְשֹׁ֑ו לַעֲשֹׂות֙ אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֣י הַבְּרִ֔ית הַכְּתוּבִ֖ים עַל־הַסֵּ֥פֶר הַזֶּֽה׃
