 וַיָּבֹ֣א כָל־הָעָ֗ם לְהַבְרֹ֧ות אֶת־דָּוִ֛ד לֶ֖חֶם בְּעֹ֣וד הַיֹּ֑ום וַיִּשָּׁבַ֨ע דָּוִ֜ד לֵאמֹ֗ר כֹּ֣ה יַעֲשֶׂה־לִּ֤י אֱלֹהִים֙ וְכֹ֣ה יֹסִ֔יף כִּ֣י אִם־לִפְנֵ֧י בֹֽוא־הַשֶּׁ֛מֶשׁ אֶטְעַם־לֶ֖חֶם אֹ֥ו כָל־מְאֽוּמָה׃WLC (Consonants Only)
 
 
 ויבא כל־העם להברות את־דוד לחם בעוד היום וישבע דוד לאמר כה יעשה־לי אלהים וכה יסיף כי אם־לפני בוא־השמש אטעם־לחם או כל־מאומה׃Strong's ConcordanceHolman Christian Standard Bible Then  they   came  to  urge David  to eat  bread  while  it was still  day, but  David  took an oath: “ May God  punish   me  and  do so  severely  if  I taste  bread  or  anything   else before   sunset ! ”

 Then all the people came to persuade David to eat bread while it was still day; but David vowed, saying, "May God do so to me, and more also, if I taste bread or anything else before the sun goes down."

 And when all the people came to cause David to eat meat while it was yet day, David sware, saying, So do God to me, and more also, if I taste bread, or ought else, till the sun be down.
