פֶּן־יִרְדֹּף֩ גֹּאֵ֨ל הַדָּ֜ם אַחֲרֵ֣י הָרֹצֵ֗חַ כִּי־יֵחַם֮ לְבָבֹו֒ וְהִשִּׂיגֹ֛ו כִּֽי־יִרְבֶּ֥ה הַדֶּ֖רֶךְ וְהִכָּ֣הוּ נָ֑פֶשׁ וְלֹו֙ אֵ֣ין מִשְׁפַּט־מָ֔וֶת כִּ֠י לֹ֣א שֹׂנֵ֥א ה֛וּא לֹ֖ו מִתְּמֹ֥ול שִׁלְשֹֽׁום׃

פן־ירדף גאל הדם אחרי הרצח כי־יחם לבבו והשיגו כי־ירבה הדרך והכהו נפש ולו אין משפט־מות כי לא שנא הוא לו מתמול שלשום׃ Strong's Concordance Holman Christian Standard Bible Otherwise, the avenger of blood in the heat of his anger might pursue the one who committed manslaughter, overtake him because the distance is great, and strike him dead. Yet he did not deserve to die, since he did not previously hate his neighbor.
New American Standard Bible otherwise the avenger of blood might pursue the manslayer in the heat of his anger, and overtake him, because the way is long, and take his life, though he was not deserving of death, since he had not hated him previously.
