וַיֹּ֨אמֶר הָעָ֜ם אֶל־שָׁא֗וּל הֲֽיֹונָתָ֤ן ׀ יָמוּת֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר עָ֠שָׂה הַיְשׁוּעָ֨ה הַגְּדֹולָ֣ה הַזֹּאת֮ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל֒ חָלִ֗ילָה חַי־יְהוָה֙ אִם־יִפֹּ֞ל מִשַּׂעֲרַ֤ת רֹאשֹׁו֙ אַ֔רְצָה כִּֽי־עִם־אֱלֹהִ֥ים עָשָׂ֖ה הַיֹּ֣ום הַזֶּ֑ה וַיִּפְדּ֥וּ הָעָ֛ם אֶת־יֹונָתָ֖ן וְלֹא־מֵֽת׃ ס

ויאמר העם אל־שאול היונתן ׀ ימות אשר עשה הישועה הגדולה הזאת בישראל חלילה חי־יהוה אם־יפל משערת ראשו ארצה כי־עם־אלהים עשה היום הזה ויפדו העם את־יונתן ולא־מת׃ ס Strong's Concordance Holman Christian Standard Bible But the people said to Saul, “Must Jonathan die, who accomplished such a great deliverance for Israel ? No , as the LORD lives, not a hair of his head will fall to the ground, for he worked with God’s help today .” So the people redeemed Jonathan, and he did not die.
New American Standard Bible But the people said to Saul, "Must Jonathan die, who has brought about this great deliverance in Israel? Far from it! As the LORD lives, not one hair of his head shall fall to the ground, for he has worked with God this day." So the people rescued Jonathan and he did not die.
King James Bible And the people said unto Saul, Shall Jonathan die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? God forbid: [as] the LORD liveth, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he hath wrought with God this day. So the people rescued Jonathan, that he died not. |
